[info]ghostsandrobots assigned me the letter 'H'.
These are in no particular order.

10. Hamburger Helper - This was the first meal I ever cooked for myself. I didn't know how to brown meat so I just tossed it onto the skillet on high.

9. Hungry Hungry Hippo - I used to love this game as a child. I remember playing it by myself often.

8. Halfricanasian - I spent most of my high school career pretending to be one of these. It's hard to explain, but I spent a lot of time with asians.

7. H8 - That's H8 with a capital 8, also sometimes referred to as H9.

6. Harry Potter - I'm looking forward to the last book coming out, and the movies aren't so bad either.

5. Homer Simpson - Aside from the Simpsons being a pretty damn funny cartoon, Homer was the first piece of ascii art I learned to make.
(_8(|) DOH!

4. Hearts - I really just added this one for Paul. It seemed to be his favorite H word.

3. Hair - I don't actually like my hair. I keep trying to grow it out, but one of my most favorite activities is shaving it mostly off. And I love having off colored hair, if I could have my purple hair back I would.

2. Harvey Danger - I was given a Harvey Danger CD by a guy I had a huge crush on in high school. I never actually listened to it until about 5 years later. I knew the band by their one single on the radio at the time, and I still really enjoy that song. The rest of the CD is crap.

1. Half-ass - It's a word that sums me up nicely. Everything I do is done half-assedly.

Work

I'm surprised at the things we talk about at work.

Like today for example I learned what the acronym CFMP stood for. It was in regards to one of my co-workers earrings. Coni who is 60 something told Nicole that her earrings were very CFMP... Not really something I wanted to hear from an older woman.

I learned a valuable life lesson today.

While making a Roy Rogers (a drink that is 1/4 grenadine and 3/4 pepsi) I mistakenly added the grenadine first before the ice cubes. Needless to say I dropped the ice cubes into the cup willey-nilley and ended up with grenadine everywhere.

In other news, my hair is bleach-blonde with random brown spots and stripes.

And lastly, does anyone else find this video amusing and the music catchy?

Stuff

It's been, oh, a year and a couple of months since I've last posted. It's about time for an update I think.

When I last left you I was just moving to North Carolina, but I only lasted there about 10 months before I decided to head back to Washington. I'm not going to bore you with all the trials and tribulations of that horrible place, but I will provide some highlights.

Our 2nd day in Fayetteville Paul and I bought a puppy. Sadie

Paul and I bought new cars. Paul's Car I don't have pictures of my car apparently, but I bought a 2005 Jetta GLI.

A few weeks after I got my new car I wrecked it, and like 2 months later I finally got it back from the shop.

In February of 2005 we leased a house. House! I'm definitely not going to go into all the shit we had to deal with in regards to this house. Needless to say though, cost of living is super cheap.

I left May 29th to move back to Washington. The drive back was no fun. I had an eye infection and had to make extra stops to instill medicated eye drops. My second day of the journey I woke up to a semi-flat time in the middle of nowhere on Memorial Day. The rest of the trip was mostly uneventful however.

I arrived back in Washington with a job lined up back at the Costco Pharmacy. But due to complications and business politics the job fell through. So I went to Volt (a temp. agency) who got me a temp. job working for Paccar Parts where I served as a lackey in the general accounting department. I then hired on with the company when I saw no hope of returning back to Costco. I lasted there about 5 months when out of the blue Costco calls me up and asks me to come back.

In November I made my triumphant return to Costco. Oh, and sometime in August (umm, I think, I'm horrid with dates and time frames!) Paul moved back to WA and we moved to Issaquah. Paul had a worse drive across the country than I did I think. He had haul back all of the stuff we decided to keep into his car, including: 2 computer desks and chairs, 2 computers, a dog, a cat, clothes, dvd player, surround sound system, and a few more various items.

I'm sure there's more to my past year+ but it's really uneventful. At the moment I'm living in a 2 bedroom apartment that's furnished with 2 computer desks, a bed, a table & 4 chairs, and a light. It's pretty scarce, but moving across the country twice within a years time can really hurt the wallet.

And just for those wondering, here is one of the most current pictures of me. ME! It's maybe 6 months old(ish). I'm wearing my Leo's (the name of the restaurant in NC), you can see an ever so exciting map of Fort Bragg (where we delivered about 98% of our orders to) behind me and I appear to be eating mozzarella sticks (mmmm!).

That seems to be it. If you want any more details about my thrillingly exciting past year feel free to chat me up.

We leave tomorrow morning. We finish packing up today. Which means my computer goes along with it. Bye bye computer. Bye bye online friends. See you in a week or so...

Mon, Jul. 19th, 2004, 10:07 am

Okay, after going round and round with someone who really seemed like a done deal for buying my truck, he backed out due to some silly financial reason.

Seeing as how I'm moving in 12 days, I need to get rid of this guy.

So it is official. Paul and I leave on July 31st for NC. We've booked the U-Haul, we've signed a lease for an apartment there, we put in our 20 days intent to move here, we've put in our 2 weeks notice to our jobs.

All that's left is:
- packing
- finding a new job for me
- transferring my car lease to NC
- seeing friends and family

You have officially 17 days to see me before I leave.

And lastly here is something I found amusing.

Tue, Jul. 6th, 2004, 11:08 am

So I think I forgot to mention this, but as it stands at the end of July Paul and I will be moving to North Carolina.

This is to inform you that I am tendering my resignation from Albertson's and wish to advise you that March 29, 2004, will be my last day of employment.

On Saturday I had an interview with Costco pharmacy. Costco pharmacy is the place to go if you want to stay in retail pharmacy. The interview went pretty well and I proved once again that I don't have to wait for call backs. They usually tell me right then and there whether I got the job or not.

So today I get to send in my resignation to Albertson's (has to be one of the happiest days of my life!). And soon I get to start working with an old co-worker again. Things right now are going really good. Job is good, and life seems to be doing better.

One good thing I found out over the weekend is that Paul and I can get into a fight, but we can always make up for it afterwards. Very good thing.

Dream Theater tonight!

Mon, Mar. 1st, 2004, 07:59 am

Look! It's me blowing bubbles!

This was taken at Renda and Phil's wedding. There's Paul looking at me like I'm nuts, and half of Jessica.

Sat, Feb. 28th, 2004, 10:44 am

Thanks to [info]sianath I've been playing GROW off and on for the past week or so. Well today I finally beat it! Yay! Life is good.

Sun, Feb. 22nd, 2004, 08:43 am

I am now officially a CPT. I am Tim Renken CPT. How cool is that? Tim Renken Certified Pharmacy Technician. It's been 3+ long years but it's finally done! What does this mean exactly? Jack shit. Albertson's, even though they urged me to get it with promises like "you'll get your raise as soon as you do", has decided it's not good enough for them and will not be happy until I'm nationally certified. What the hell? I'm good enough for anyone else just being certified by the state but Albertson's wants me bigger and better! Hah, right.

Although I am (supposedly) enrolled in the national certification program I may or may not complete it. It happens in May or June or something like that and sure I'll finish it if I'm still with Albertson's. But at the moment I'm seriously thinking of getting a new job. A job where I'm not in charge of everything, where I'm the only one who knows how to do things, a job where I work late and have to deal with horrible co-workers. And on top of all that I get paid a measly wage whereas I could go to any other pharmacy in the state and be pays 1-2 dollars more an hour.

It's just so frustrating!

Wed, Feb. 11th, 2004, 08:27 am

I'm afraid I'm getting sick. I'm developing a productive cough. Damn working with the contagious public.

Wed, Feb. 4th, 2004, 08:57 am

Nothing really has been going on lately.

I've been reading a lot on the weekends. I'm about half way through Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance: An Inquiry into Values It's kind of a tough read, but it has been well worth it so far. I can't decide what to read next. I just recently bought A Game of Thrones but I'm not sure if I want to start another multi-volume fantasy epic. Or I wouldn't mind finishing East of Eden.

Just for peace of mind and for BK's sake I looked this up. This is how to spell it BK. Boll weevil. Neither of us were very close.

Paul and I just beat Icewind Dale and are attempting to play the expansion, but apparently it realizes we only own one copy of the game. So until we get a second copy of the expansion we're going to play Icewind Dale II.

Work is still hellacious. It's *about* three more weeks till Gail is gone. I should be getting my license fairly soon as well unless Albertson's mucks that up too. As soon as I recieve that it's bye bye Albertsons hello anywhere else.

I came home to a surprise last night. I walked in to the apartment and found Paul and surprise! Jenn sitting on the floor. I was thinking maybe Paul bought a puppy or pizza or something, but I was happy to see Jenn. It had been a while.

Been watching a lot of The Beatles Anthology I still can't get over the fact how absolutely insane people went over the Fab Four. And then on February 10th Angel Season Three comes out. I'm looking forward to that.

Heading to my old high school tonight. Haven't been there in oh...4 years now. Dragging Paul to go see some friends I haven't seen in just as long. Lucky Paul.
